Guess who's back? Buckle up! We've got a lot of catching up to do.

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, it's easy to get swept away in the constant stream of social media updates, likes, and shares. For a while, I found myself drowning in this digital world, losing touch with the present moment and the things that truly matter. Life has a funny way of throwing unexpected curveballs our way. Shaking up our routines and challenging us to acclimatize and grow. For me, one of those curveballs came in the form of a life-changing PCOS diagnosis.

It was a moment that forced me to reevaluate my priorities, including my relationship with social media. Taking a partial sabbatical from certain platforms allowed me to navigate this new chapter with clarity. A hiatus from the virtual noise to reconnect with myself and my surroundings. Most of all, pause to figure out what the hell is going on * cue nervous chuckle *!?

During my time away from the digital noise, I started on my journey of self-discovery and healing. And boy, what a journey it's been! Learning to navigate the complexities of PCOS was not easy, but it opened my eyes to the importance of prioritizing my health and overall well-being above everything else. "Always look out for number one!" has now become my golden rule. I found myself drawn to more meaningful interactions and experiences. I still engaged with select platforms, mainly Twitter, that added value to my life, in the form of being informed about current affairs without having to subscribe to News24. I made a conscious effort to limit my time and attention on interactions that left me feeling drained or overwhelmed. This shift allowed me to reclaim precious moments of my day for self-reflection, creativity, and genuine connection.

During this period of change and growth, I was fortunate enough to find love in the arms of my significant other, My Sun. We met on my birthday. I had some friends over for cocktails and we had run out of mint. Can't have a G&T without mint, now can we? Since I was new to the estate and knew none of the people I share a block with, I decided to randomly pick a door (Or unit number, if we're being specific), go knock on said door, and ask if they had a few mint leaves to spare. Unfortunately he had no mint, but as cheesy as it may sound... he had me at "Hello." Fast forward a few months later and he's still here. With mint leaves now. :'D He has stood by me with unwavering patience and understanding, continuously encouraging me to prioritize self-care and personal growth. His presence reminded me that true connection transcends the digital realm and flourishes in the tender moments shared between two hearts.

It wasn't just my personal life that blossomed during this time. I also embarked on a new professional chapter, after being headhunted on LinkedIn and landing a job that aligned perfectly with my passions and values. Stepping into this role felt like a breath of fresh air, as I embraced the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the world around me. On most days, I find myself growing more confident and fulfilled, grateful for the chance to pursue work that resonates with my soul.

But perhaps one of the most exciting aspects of this chapter in my life is my new cozy apartment. Nestled in a quiet corner of the city, this space has become my sanctuary – a place where I can retreat from the chaos of the world and recharge my spirit. With its warm, inviting atmosphere and cozy furnishings, it feels like a true reflection of myself and the life I am building. Stepping through the door everyday after a long day at work, feels like stepping into a sanctuary – a place where I can recharge and simply be.

By selectively disconnecting from the noise of certain platforms, I've been able to cultivate deeper connections, pursue meaningful experiences, and create a space that truly feels like home. As I look towards the future, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead. Despite the challenges I've faced, I am grateful for the lessons they have taught me and the strength that's come with them. With love in my heart, purpose in my soul, and a newfound appreciation for the present moment, I am ready to embrace whatever adventure the future may hold and you, my friend, will be the one I share these pockets of adventure with. So... asambe!
